إن دار الإفتاء المصرية منذ إنشائها عام 1895م/ 1313هـ وهي تقف شامخةً في طليعة المؤسسات الإسلامية التي تتحدث بلسان الدين الحنيف وترفع لواء البحث الفقهي بين المشتغلين به في كل بلدان العالم الإسلامي، فتقوم بدورها التاريخي والحضاري من خلال وصل المسلمين المعاصرين بأصول دينهم وتوضيح معالم الطريق إلى الحق، وإزالة ما التبس عليهم من أحوال دينهم ودنياهم كاشفةً عن أحكام الإسلام في كل ما استجد على الحياة المعاصرة
